Inspiring rural education with excellence

Shantigram Vidhya Niketan School, a co-education English Medium School, is situated in Mandawar, a remote village in Sohna Tehsil in Haryana. It could well be described as the outcome of the long- cherished dream of our late His Grace Job Mar Philoxenos, the Metropolitan, Delhi Diocese to spread the light of knowledge in remote areas. 

This project is akin to Gandhiji’s vision of the development of Rural India that aims to create a holistic self-sustaining village mission. This school was one among the many social and community oriented ventures carried out by the Delhi Diocese of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. His Grace, Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios, the Metropolitan, Delhi Diocese has taken forward this undertaking to render selfless service in the field of education.

The school is now owned and managed by the Delhi Orthodox Syrian Church Society which is running two prestigious institutions in New Delhi, viz., St. Paul’s School, Hauz Khas and St. Paul’s School, Aya Nagar. The Orthodox Church, a part of worldwide Christendom, is an indigenous and ancient community of Orthodox Christians which owes its origin to the arrival of St. Thomas, one of the Disciples of Christ, in AD 52. St. Paul, another apostle of Christ, who was an erudite scholar and an educationist, is the Patron Saint of the School. St. Paul’s aims at developing the mental, physical and spiritual potential of each child.

It is our commitment to turn out from the portals of St. Paul’s well balanced, integrated persons with a blend of innovation and modernity founded on traditional ethos, committed to a free and fair society. It is, and will continue to be, our mission that each student of our school be a success story in forming a holistic personality. The school is recognized by the Haryana Government and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
